Cloud backup and DR so a failure isn't the end

We make sure your copies exist and can actually be restored. Every quarter we test that live and hand you a report with the real recovery time, instead of "we have backups but never tested them". Data loss window from 15 minutes to 24 hours, depending on the plan.

01 / PLANNER

Start with two numbers: RTO and RPO

How many minutes of downtime and how many minutes of data your business can absorb — those two answers set the protection level. The stricter one wins. Preliminary recommendation; the binding one comes from a DR Assessment.

01 How much downtime can you take? (RTO)
02 How much data can you lose? (RPO)
03 What are you protecting?
02 / PACKAGES

Three levels of data protection

Backup, replication, full DR — the choice depends on how many minutes of downtime and how many minutes of data loss your business can tolerate. We start with an audit (DR Assessment) so you don't pay for DR cross-region where a nightly snapshot is enough.

DR Assessment

Audit of current data protection, RTO/RPO definition per application, plan and cost estimate.

03 / HOW WE DO IT

8 steps from audit to working DR

Backup without a test is theory. Every implementation ends with a drill that measures real RTO/RPO — not declared values.

01

Current-state audit

System inventory, data classification, assessment of current backups (if any). Report: where the gaps are.

02

RTO/RPO per application

Goal definition. Tier 0 (critical — banking): RTO 30 min. Tier 3 (archives): 24 h. No one-size-fits-all.

03

Technology selection

Veeam / Commvault / AWS Backup / Azure Backup / GCP Backup / native (RMAN, pg_basebackup). By cost and SLA.

04

IaC setup

Terraform / Bicep for entire backup pipeline. Repository, schedules, policies, retention — all as code.

05

Encryption + audit log

AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit. BYOK optional. Every read / restore operation logged in audit log.

06

Cross-region replication

Copies always in 2 EU locations (e.g. Frankfurt + Amsterdam). Failover region ready for promote in <30 min.

07

Quarterly DR drill

Full failover test to the 2nd region. We measure real RTO/RPO, verify runbook, list action items.

08

SLO monitoring + alerts

Backup job success, RPO drift, storage budget, encryption status. Alerts to PagerDuty / Slack — not just email.

You have backups. But did anyone check they actually work?

A DR Assessment ends with a number: the real recovery time of your environment, measured in a test rather than declared in a proposal.

04 / FAQ

What's worth knowing before choosing a package

What RTO and RPO do you guarantee?
Standard: RTO < 30 min and RPO < 15 min for the DR cross-region package with DB replication. For Backup as a Service: RTO 2–4 h, RPO 24 h (daily snapshot). Stricter targets — synchronous replication with RPO ~0 and RTO <5 min — quoted individually after audit, as they require dedicated infrastructure and often application changes.
Which technology do you use?
For backup: Veeam Backup & Replication (most common), Commvault Complete Data Protection, AWS Backup, Azure Backup, GCP Backup and DR Service. For DB replication: Oracle Data Guard, PostgreSQL streaming replication, AWS DMS, Azure Site Recovery. Selection per client environment — after a cost and SLA audit.
Do you support legacy Oracle DB, WebLogic, WebSphere?
Yes. Oracle DB 11g/12c/19c/23ai with RMAN + Data Guard. WebLogic 10g/12c/14c — domain config + state backup. WebSphere 7/8.5/9.0 + Liberty — profiles, security, deployments backup. Full recovery playbooks for every platform — no improvisation at night when production goes down.
Where do you store copies and who has access?
Copies always in 2 EU locations (usually Frankfurt + Amsterdam or Frankfurt + Warsaw). Encryption at rest AES-256 and in transit TLS 1.3. KMS keys — client can hold them (BYOK) or in hyperscaler. Audit log of every read/restore operation.
Do you test recovery, or just assume it works?
Quarterly DR drill is part of the contract (DR cross-region package). Full failover test to the 2nd region, RTO/RPO verification, action items report. For Backup as a Service — monthly recovery test on a sample. Without this, backup is theory — many companies find out about gaps only during a real outage (and then it's too late).
How much does it cost?
DR Assessment (audit + plan + RTO/RPO target): from 3,990 PLN net. Backup as a Service: from 1,290 PLN net / month (up to 1 TB, 30-day retention). DR cross-region: setup from 24,990 PLN net + maintenance from 4,990 PLN net / month. Cloud cost (storage, transfer, standby compute) given separately in the post-audit cost estimate — transparently.
What about GDPR and data residency in EU?
All copies and replicas in EU regions: eu-central-1 (Frankfurt), eu-west-1 (Ireland), westeurope (Amsterdam), europe-west3 (Frankfurt). Standard: DPA with hyperscaler, data classification, sub-processor list. We help with DPIA and RoPA audits. For public / regulated sector — DR on own infrastructure possible (cloud + on-prem).
Do you do multi-cloud DR?
Yes. Production in AWS, replica in Azure (or the other way) — the most common scenario for clients with regulatory requirements like "no eggs in one basket". Individual quotation due to cross-cloud transfer costs (egress).
